We had a great day out here last sunday,we set off from the restaurant about 8.30am and headed for the Loas/Thai border along the 1080 route.
Exceptional views of the mountains and also a well nice bike ride all the way untill you hit the last town nearering the border then the road turns into a construction area for about 2KMs .All together it took us about three and a half hours to get there travelling at an average speed of 80kms.Well recommended to tourists to nan and locals alike.
I wouldnt want to do it in the rainy season i might add.Also only for experienced bike drivers unless you are going to take it really slow,theres a lot of nasty bends in the roads along the mountains and watch out for the potholes in the road along the way as you get further into the mountains.
